Why do we study Mathematics?

At St Winefride’s, our intent for maths is to teach a curriculum which enables our pupils to:

• Access strong teaching in order to secure learning and progress.

• Develop the attitude that everyone CAN DO maths

• Develop resilient mathematicians who are independent thinkers and can apply their skills across the curriculum.

• Enable children to have the skills needed for the next stages of their school lives and future employment.
